We washed three rugs of the same origin in the pit today and one of the rugs lost its Tea Wash in the fringe. Not all the Tea wash was removed but where it was removed it was completly removed and the fringe and kilim are white.

Has anyone come up with a good procedure for the Fix? I was thinking about a coffee stain or black tea?

I understand that a tea wash is not really tea but what can a rug cleaner do for a fix.

As`always your input is appreciated and useful......Thanks

Art

I can tell one idea that did not work as well as I had hoped for...

I had to repour concrete anyways in the building we bought 3.5 yrs ago, it already had a 6" drop from front to back over 125'... but in disastrous shape and a few layers over top of layers , broken & crumbled etc.

So we made a 4" drop in 35', perimeter drains, baseball mound hump in the center... The mound was DUMB.

In the past 2 weeks we have "scarified" & diamond ground the concrete - very expensive BTW - filled with some thin-set type product, diamond grind again while water is flowing to get a shear level water flow across the floor. Repainted 1500 ft of concrete with epoxy this time instead of cement stain that did not penetrate well enough the first time around 3.5 yrs ago.

I am hoping the shear slab wash will help my water flow across & through rugs faster & easier, saving me time - precious time - in terms of getting rugs done faster.

With the epoxy color now on, I want to just add epoxy clear coat every few years instead of adding color to my floor. Hope I got it right this time around.

I have learned that concrete work is very expensive period. Towers & badgers are cheap compared to concrete!

Con

The house uses a septic tank, the shop has a full bathroom also connected to the septic tank.

OK my question is can I dump the pit water in the drain to the septic tank without doing damage to tthe septic system?
OR should I just hook up a pump out system to move the water about 100 feeet away from the house and just let it absorb into the ground?

This silk pile ?300 knot? 6 x9 has about 15 urine stains of 6" average size. 2 of these have caused slight color bleeding, the rest appear to be OK thus far from bleeding.

I was planning cold water river wash, just rolling over a 2 - 3 hour period, hang soaking wet, extract with uph tool from the back side while hanging from top end. post application of hydrocide if required at all.

AM I out to lunch? other ideas?
Hi guys,

It's been a while since I've posted here, but I could use a little help.
I have cleaned a wool on cotton rug that had cat urine contamination. Some of it was there for some time because it was very stiff near the fringe. Well during the cleaning it began to bleed and I attempted to flush it out...
The rug turned out great except for the fringe.
I tried MB fringe bleach, but dye is still there. The dye is green.

Any suggestions please?

All the best,
Michael
