RCT (Rug Cleaning Tech) in San Diego (open course) for Wednesday through Friday, March 10-12, 2010.
Note from the Dusty:
btw, I saw them put on an amazing presentation at Vegas Connections "the experience" and WOW. Certainly perfect for any carpet cleaner that wants to get serious about rug cleaning! Stephen "Dusty" Roberts
As a reminder, everyone is welcome to attend the course, but in order to take the RCT Exam for IICRC Certification, that is administered at the end of the course, the registrant must be currently certified in Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) or Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician (CMT) AND Upholstery & Fabric Technician (UFT).
The IICRC Exam Fee of $50 per person is separate from the Registration Fee and payable to IICRC at the time of the exam.
Course registrants are encouraged to bring rugs with them that need cleaning preferably 6' x 9' or smaller, but not larger than 8' x 10'.
We need at least one urine contaminated rug. Typically Ruth and Jeff clean 20-25 rugs per course during the demonstrations. They will do their best to clean as many rugs as possible during the course, but depending on the number brought in they may not all be cleaned.
Call Cindy, at (800) 455-4278 to register. Seats are limited to 30, so please reserve early.

I can't express to you how important this is to your success. I myself would not have believed 3 years ago just how much of a difference getting "certified" would make to the success of my own rug care plant.
It was my good friend and close business associate Peter Eckert of Sani-Tech Services (he owns a small franchise chain in BC) that dragged me kicking and screaming all the way to Seattle (A 6 hour trip) to take Aaron Groseclose's RCT (rug cleaning tech) class. I was convinced there was no way this "instructor" who had next to no experience next to me was going to be able to teach me anything. After all I had been caring for carpets all my adult life and had been specializing in loose rug care for almost a decade.
I cared for 100's of rugs a month and had thousands of happy clients.
I was wrong.
Dead wrong.
I in fact learned I knew next to nothing about rug ID. I came back from the class with a new found passion for fine rugs. I learned the basics of rug id and this set me on a road to learn more.
The bottom line is knowing how to ID rugs makes me and my team thousands of dollars a month. Here is a great analogy I like to share on this. If you have a chevy then you don't thing twice about taking your care to the local garage for an oil change, RIGHT?
And do you thing for a moment that a luxury car owner like a Jaguar would take their precious car to the local garage for anything? Not a chance. Am I right or am I RIGHT? The point is that the highter end homeowner with special rugs knows better then to let just anyone even touch his/her rugs.
These prospective clients are VERY particular on who gets to service them. There is a tremendous amount of FEAR and INTREPIDATION involved in letting anyone touch these special rugs. Maybe their rug will be ruined. Maybe lost Maybe stolen. YIKES. We have a big job to instill confidence in these prospects.
You must look, feel, taste and of all speak the right language to get the trust of these clients.
Rug ID is a big start towards this. I am hugely encouraging everyone that is reading this to get to the next rug care class you can hustle your butt to.
I am positive that with this kind of commitment you will be hugely successful in your own business! How bout if you jump on the bandwagon and do the same. You can easily become the "GO To" experts in your own town.
The next step is yours!
